Ways to Implement Green Living

Green living is not something you just do, but green living is a state of mind. You must in your mind really want to help our environment my thinking everyday what you can do help save our natural recourses. There are many ways to implement green living, that is why I have listed here ways you can get started.
Start using products that are safe for the environment. Examples of these products can be; cleaning products, recycled papers, and even clothing made from environmentally safe processes. Usually the products are packaged in drab looking containers, the reason being they do not use fancy inks and paper from trees.
You can also start helping by recycling plastics, glass, and paper products. Even if you just recycle one or two items then you are helping the environment. Many cities now require recycling of products and require you to separate them.
The next time you replace a light bulb try replacing it with a LED bulb, which are safer than CFLs which contain mercury. With an LED bulb you can save up to 80% over a standard incandescent light bulb.
When was the last time you had your car tuned up? Simply by tuning up your car you are helping eliminate gas emissions and using less fuel. Buying a hybrid car when it comes time to trade in your old car is a great choice.
Another way to save energy is by adjusting your thermostat either lower in the winter or higher in the summer. Not only do you save energy you also save money on your utility cost.
Try planting a garden in the spring and reap the rewards. If you never planted a garden you might find it a very fun thing to do, growing your very own food will save you money at the grocery store. Even if you don’t plant your own garden you can buy fresh organic food that is free of pesticides and other chemicals.
Water conservation is another way of implementing green living. We take for granted the natural water resources we have around us. Try using less water during showers, and when washing clothes. Also if you water your lawn during the hot summer months why not collect water using a 55 gallon drum available from your local home supply store. You can use this water for your lawn and garden. Saving on one our most valuable resources helps everyone. Just by using one or two of my tips you can help our environment and do your part in green living.
