Pet Friendly Buildings In Vancouver
As a pet friendly Vancouver realtor, a lot of my clients are pet owners. It would then logically follow that I spend a lot of time sourcing pet friendly buildings in Vancouver to find condo units that will accommodate pets. Now, unlike many other aspects of a real estate transaction, the pet conversation is not negotiable and the purchase simply must revolve around Fido’s needs otherwise it’s not going to happen. I work with a lot of frustrated ex-renters whose decision to buy their own condo is driven purely by frustration of not being able to find a pet friendly rental building.
Developers in Vancouver have realised that a pet friendly building is a huge factor when it comes to marketing the completed project. Many new developments have even gone so far as to have dedicated enclosures for dogs, particularly in high density areas such as millennium Waters Olympic village and downtown.
The good news is that there are a lot of dog friendly buildings in Vancouver. I have recently added a complete list of dog friendly buildings in Kitsilano to my website. The completed list of downtown Vancouver pet friendly buildings will be up by early next week. This list will include whether rentals are allowed in the building as well.
Keep in mind that some buildings, while allowing pets, will have restrictions. These are typically height and/or weight restrictions limiting owners to smaller breeds.
If you are a dog owner living in a Vancouver condo, pay special attention to ensuring your little friend gets enough exercise. It saddens me to see a howling dog locked out on a fouled up balcony on the tenth floor of a high-rise condo while the owners are away at work. Come home during lunch and throw the ball in the park for half an hour. You will be rewarded!
