Targeting Prospective Client Leads and Email List Building

Are you connecting with your prospective targeted clients, so that can get to know you, like you and trust you – plus look forward to hearing what you have to offer?
When I was an FHA Loan Officer, I did everything that others said I needed to do. I joined networking groups (got several leads that lead nowhere), had a website with great updated content, made the Realtor rounds, newsletters, direct mail, partnering, Home Shows, etc.. And, I was getting a few good leads, along with getting tired and frustrated. Maybe you can identify with some of this, no matter what business you are in.
–But, not as much was coming from these traditional marketing routines, as I was hearing others were getting! This was really disappointing, to say the very least!What I figured out was that I needed to create new marketing ideas and organize my list (not just pieces of paper with names and business cards). I needed my list ready so that I could start building relationships – letting them know I was there for them when they were ready. Offering up my solutions and ideas and giving them my expertise.
Besides having a regular email system going out, I called and actually visited with them. Over a period of time, they began to like and trust me and ask my advice. And, then started to call me to help them through their loan process as their Loan Officer.
Now the system was easy for me, the marketing ideas came from my Business Coach at that time. And, I really blossomed after group and private coaching! I started to catch on and take the necessary action to move forward. (It took me a lot of time to convince myself to spend money for this help, but it paid off for me!)Once I had a marketing and contact system running smoothly. I didn’t have to run after clients, spend time networking and marketing without great results. Now, my clients asked me questions.How would you like a list of your clients that want to hear from you and even contact you with questions?– Once I discovered how to invite my target prospects to my list by offering them free information that they really wanted and needed to understand what they were doing (after all I was now coaching them), they were getting to know me and what I had to offer – I became really popular and I grew, personally, in my business as well.Action Step #1 For Building Your List: All Of Your List Building Activities Should Be About Your Targeted ProspectsYour list building activities need to be extremely powerful. You need to find your target audience where they are.
I did that. I went to Craigslist, Blogs, Forums – and then I started having fun as I learned to communicate better with my target audience. The info I sent out helped to educate and qualify my clients, so that they called me, they were ready to go.
Now, I was growing a highly responsive list of people and I had a contact system in place to keep building my relationship with them.
I didn’t understand this, until I found a Business Coach that understood me – and took great effort in building the like, trust, and credibility factors with me. Then, helped me understand what I needed to feel confident in taking action steps to success.But, I am an Action Person – this is a must to succeed! Take action now – even if it is baby steps, do it!
